Privacy Policy

Effective July 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Alien Planet Games ("we," "us," or "our"), an independent game studio based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, collects when you use the Alien Planet Games website and the games, applications, and services we operate (collectively, the "Services"), how we use it, and who we share it with. This policy is governed by applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Our games and product-specific privacy policies

Alien Planet Games operates multiple games and applications — including NFTD (nftd.gg). Some of our products collect and process personal information under their own privacy policy, which describes in detail what that specific product collects and how it is used. This policy covers Alien Planet Games as a studio and the alienplanetgames.com website; a product's own policy governs the personal information collected through that product.

If you use NFTD or make a purchase on nftd.gg, the information collected there — including your Discord identity, any linked wallet address, purchase records, and gameplay data — is described in the NFTD Privacy Policy.

What we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us:

How we use it

We use the information we collect to operate and improve our Services, respond to your inquiries, process purchases and deliver the items you buy, run our games (including accounts, matches, and leaderboards where applicable), and diagnose and fix problems. We do not sell your personal information.

Third parties / sub-processors

We rely on the following service providers to operate our Services. Each only receives the information it needs to perform its function:

Individual products use additional providers specific to that product. For NFTD, these include Supabase (database and authentication), Discord (login and identity), Alchemy (read-only wallet scans for cosmetic NFT unlocks), and Vercel (application hosting) — see the NFTD Privacy Policy for details.

Payment data

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, and Alien Planet Games is the merchant of record. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe returns to us only a confirmation that payment succeeded and what was purchased.

Where your data is processed

Some of our service providers (including Stripe, Google, and — for NFTD — Vercel and Supabase) store and process data on servers located in the United States. When your personal information is stored or processed outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and government authorities there. By using our Services you acknowledge this transfer. We use providers that offer contractual and technical safeguards comparable to those required under Canadian law.

How we protect your data

We protect personal information with security safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reliance on providers that maintain industry-standard security. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

On alienplanetgames.com we use only the cookies set by Google Analytics to measure site usage. Our games may use cookies for authentication — to keep you signed in between visits. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We retain account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, and website analytics for a limited period. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain records (for example, purchase records for tax or fraud-prevention purposes).

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and other applicable Canadian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request its correction or deletion. To make a request, email [email protected] (or [email protected] for NFTD-specific data).

You may withdraw your consent to our collection and use of your personal information at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by deleting your account or contacting us; withdrawal may prevent you from using parts of our Services. We will respond to access or correction requests within 30 days as required by PIPEDA.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information or a privacy request, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca, 1-800-282-1376).

Children's data

Our Services are not intended for or directed to children, and children may not use them or create an account. We do not want or knowingly collect, use, or store personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date above.

We have designated a Privacy Officer accountable for our compliance with this policy. Contact: Privacy Officer, Alien Planet Games, Vancouver, BC, Canada, [email protected]. See also our Terms of Service.
